My First Credit in the Film industry

I recently had the incredible opportunity to get involved as a runner in the making of the short film N()N, written and directed by Alexiane Cazenave and Henri Brugère, and produced by Onzala. It was my very first credit in the film industry, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable adventure!

As a runner on set, my role was diverse and dynamic. I assisted with various tasks, including setting up equipment, coordinating with other crew members, and ensuring smooth operations during filming. But that’s not all – I was also entrusted with the responsibility of script logging. This involved meticulously documenting each take during filming, recording shot numbers, camera angles, and technical details. It was a crucial task that required keen attention to detail, capturing every aspect of the production process.

As a first-time script logger, I quickly learned the importance of accuracy and precision. It was essential to capture all the relevant information during filming, from the performances of the actors to the technical aspects of each shot. I worked closely with the Director of Photography (DOP), the Sound Technician, and the 1st Assistant Director (AD) to ensure that the script logs were comprehensive and accurate, laying the foundation for seamless post-production work.

Working on N()N provided me with invaluable insights into the collaborative nature of filmmaking. I witnessed firsthand the dedication and hard work of the entire crew, from the directors and actors to the DOP, sound technician, and other production team members. Each person played a crucial role in bringing the film to life, and I felt proud to be a part of such a talented and committed team.

Through my involvement in N()N, I also gained hands-on experience in the technical aspects of filmmaking. I had the opportunity to learn about different camera setups, experiment with lighting techniques, and observe the intricacies of sound recording up close. It was a fantastic learning opportunity that broadened my horizons and deepened my appreciation for the art of filmmaking.

Beyond the technicalities, I also had the chance to connect with fellow crew members and learn from their experiences in the film industry. Their stories, insights, and camaraderie added a personal touch to my journey, making it all the more memorable and fulfilling.

Unfortunately, due to my work commitments, I had to leave the production of N()N before it wrapped. However, I am eagerly looking forward to the final product, knowing that my contributions as a runner and script logger have played a part in bringing the story to life on the screen. It has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such an exciting production.
